current obsessions

20 July 2011
you could say i'm currently lusting over accessories - both for the home and fashion accessories. i love the femininity and sweetness of the bows on the shoe and ring and how that's echoed in the curves and colors of the decor.

what's your current obsession?

design love

21 May 2011
i'm currently obsessing over fashion designer erin fetherston's new york apartment. located in the tribeca district, her loft is full of vintage furniture in neutral hues, artistic accents like framed sketches of her work, and whimisical touches.

i just love her design aesthetic, both fashion and interior - it effuses a sophisticated pretty and grown-up whimsy.

design crush

13 April 2011
i confessed in january a developing love of interior design that might just be rivaling my interest in fashion. my interest continues to grow, due in large part to some of the amazing blogs i've come to visit regularly, like bijou and boheme and haute design. i promise not to lose focus of fashion, but i hope you'll give me leeway to explore other beautiful art forms, like design, from time to time.

i have a serious crush on whitewashed spaces and i'm seriously considering painting all of my dark wood furniture a bright white. i love how clean, open, and bright mostly-white rooms feel and i'm drawn to french design whether it's contemporary elegance or a country home.

do you think these spaces are as beautiful as i do?

we interrupt our regularly scheduled program...

14 January 2011

ok, you're probably wondering why i'm posting about decor, when this is expressly a fashion blog. like diane, my friend over at a spot of whimsy, i've had organization and design on the brain.

i recently overhauled my desk at work - cleaned out drawers, filed away documents and bought a few key storage items like the super cute vinea pencil cup. it was such a refreshing exercise that
i want to go room by room in my apartment to start clearing out cabinets and drawers, organizing, and upgrading design elements. for inspiration, i'm pouring over these interiors designed by rachel ashwell of shabby chic. i want my house to look like this!
