I love a good book (contemporary literature preferred), but I think I might enjoy the hunt for a good book even more. This past weekend, we visited my favorite used book store in Chicago, Myopic Books, to pick up some new reads.
This time, I brought my "To Read" list, downloaded from Goodreads because if I don't come prepared with a list, I could spend hours scanning the bookshelves. If I haven't mentioned it before, I'm a huge fan of Goodreads for keeping track of books I want to read and for checking out which books my friends are reading and enjoying.
I'm pretty happy with my haul! Have you read any of these books? What is on your bookshelf these days?
1. Plainsong by Kent Harfug
2. A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan: Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize
3. The Leftovers by Tom Perrotta
4. Snow by Orhan Pamuk

I've heard amazing things about A Visit From The Goon Squad–i'm going to have to pick it up!
So excited for new book recommendations! :)
I love Goodreads! Have been bad about reading lately but that's about to change since I just got a library card. San Diego has an amazing library and I plan to take advantage of that!

I've been meaning to read A Visit From the Goon Squad! Enjoy.
There's nothing I love more than a trip to the bookstore! I just started The Astronaut Wives Club this morning and I was so sad to put it down when I got to the office.
I'm really curious about the Orhan Pamuk book! I'm really into this book I'm reading right now. It's called How to Travel With a Salmon by Umberto Eco. Very smart and funny.
Brian and I are trying to make more time for reading right now - so I might have to add a few of these to my reading list :) xx
i lived in lincoln park for a couple years, and i would always trek over to wicker to visit myopic when i needed a new read :) right now i'm reading the rosie project and i can't recommend it highly enough :)
