i thought i would share some of my favorite wedding registry items with you since i've been enjoying several of them this week!
we were so grateful to be able to switch out hand-me-downs and kitchenware from college for nice, new housewares. we chose a mix of practical and pretty pieces that would help us set up our adult, newlywed home.
honestly, i felt a bit guilty registering for home decor and non-essential items at first, but there are only so many spatulas a person needs! experts suggest you register for two-to-three times as many items as guests invited to the wedding and in our case, that allowed us to get creative and add the "pretty" pieces that would bring character and style to our space. it's key to have variety on your registry because you'll find that everyone has different price points to work with and not everyone enjoys purchasing the typical registry items for the bride and groom.
in fact, we found that some of our family and friends were really excited to give us home decor. my mother-in-law got us a seriously beautiful venetian mirror from wisteria (i would have included it, but it's no longer available - similar here) and was so happy to know that it is hanging in our bedroom and that we admire it daily.

Like you, I was really excited to retire our mismatched, worn kitchenware for new everyday plates, silverware, pots & pans, etc.
I really struggled. We lived together for 4 years before our wedding so there wasn't a ton we needed, so we did end up registering for a lot of the pretty stuff and I have to say I'm so excited about all of it!
Oh this is great Ashley! I'm totally going to keep this in my back pocket for if/when that day comes around for me :)
How cute are those his and hers glasses?! Registering for gifts sounds so fun...I have a sneaking suspicion that will be my favorite part some day!

Home decor is always a good idea. I can never have too many beautiful photo frames candlesticks or lamps, I love a beautiful lamp. :)
