it has been quite some time since the last "wedding details reveal," so i thought i'd share a few details about our wedding invitations! the design and print shop we were hoping to use for our wedding invitations completely dropped the ball (as in, never delivered a proof and stopped responding to e-mails!), so we scrambled to get invitations designed, ordered, and printed in time.
enter paper source. i've always loved the store and frequently buy things i don't need the cutest stationary and office supplies, so i decided to give them a shot. i worked with sharon and nicole at the southport location in chicago and they were AMAZING! i gave them my tight budget and even tighter time frame and they helped me design and order the most beautiful invitations!
the invitations are on textured cream cardstock with charcoal grey and "peach" font. i put "peach" in quotations because they custom-made this ink color for us by taking their papaya color down to 50%. amazing, right??
the envelopes are gravel with a pearlescent lining that has the best name ever: stardream opal. if i was a crazy celeb, i would totally name my first child that.
i had a bit of a twinge of regret putting our wedding website on the invitation (in lieu of an information card with addresses and directions), but honestly, this is all our budget allowed and hey, i'm a modern bride, am i not?
although i'd love to hire a calligrapher, we will be printing the addresses on vellum labels at home. to add something special to an otherwise plain envelope, i ordered custom stamps from zazzle. i got the idea from alex's gorgeous save the dates and downloaded the custom monogram image from wedding chicks. the postage is pricier, but i just love the personal touch it adds!
so, what do you think??
